CONDITION

The retainers on the quick connectors are being broken while repairing and/or replacing the fuel line

CAUSE

The retainer that secures the fitting to the nipple might be damaged by improper removal.

CORRECTION

The proper removal of the fuel line requires the retainer to be pressed in like a button to release the connection. See procedure below. If for some unforeseeable reason the retainer is damaged, it is now available separately. See part number below.

  1. Press down as shown in Fig 1 .

  2. While pressing down on retainer, pull connector away from nipple.

  3. Continue to slide connector completely off of nipple.

  4. If for some unforeseeable reason the clip breaks there are replacement clips available. Replacement clip (15816-85Z00) one per package only if broken.

    NOTE: The part number (15816-85Z00) is a 5/16inch clip. Other size connectors use the same removal procedure.
