Parking Brake Cable Installation

Install the parking brake cable to the rear backing plate as assembly. Refer to "HUB AND PARKING BRAKE SHOE / BACKPLATE INSTALLATION ".

Remove the nuts and bolts securing the parking brake cable to the holding brackets, attached to the under body near the fuel tank.
Tighten

Tighten the parking brake cable bracket securing bolts and nuts to 23 N.m (17 lb-ft).

Install the parking brake cable rod and the parking brake cable ends to the parking brake cable rod.

Install the parking brake adjustment nut to the eye bolt pull rod of the parking brake lever assembly and be sure to check the parking brake adjustment by referring to the original removal adjustment nut measurement taken in the removal procedure. Refer to "PARKING BRAKE ADJUSTMENT (REAR DISC BRAKES ADJUSTMENT) ".
Install the parking brake/gearshift console hood. Refer to "FLOOR CONSOLE INSTALLATION ".
