Fuel Pump Circuit Check: Troubleshooting
DTC TROUBLESHOOTING
| Step | Action | Yes | No |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Check fuel pump control system for operation Is fuel pump heard to operate for 3 sec. after ignition switch ON? |
Intermittent trouble. Check for intermittent referring to "INTERMITTENT AND POOR CONNECTION INSPECTION ." If OK, substitute a known-good ECM and recheck. |
Go To Step 2. |
| 2 | Check fuel pump relay power supply
Is voltage 10 - 14 V? |
Go To Step 3. | Go to "ECM POWER AND GROUND CIRCUIT CHECK :". If result in good condition, open or high resistance wire in "BLK/ RED" circuit. |
| 3 | Check fuel pump relay
Is relay in good condition? |
Go To Step 4. | Faulty relay. |
| 4 | Check fuel pump relay drive signal
Is voltage 10 - 14 V? |
Go To Step 5. | Open wire in "GRY/ BLU" circuit or "GRY/ BLU" circuit shorted to ground. |
| 5 | Check fuel pump relay drive signal
Is voltage 0 - 1 V? |
Go To Step 6. | Substitute a known-good ECM and recheck. |
| 6 | Check wire circuit
Is resistance infinity? |
Go To Step 7. | "PNK" wire shorted to ground. |
| 7 | Check fuel pump circuit
Is voltage 10 - 14 V? |
Go To Step 8. | Open or high resistance wire in "PNK" circuit. |
| 8 | Check fuel pump circuit
Is there continuity? |
Faulty fuel pump. | Open or high resistance wire in "BLK" circuit. |
