Diagnostic Trouble Codes Troubleshooting

DTC TROUBLESHOOTING

Step Action Yes No
1 Was "Engine and Emission Control System Check" performed?  Go To Step 3. Go to "ENGINE AND EMISSION CONTROL SYSTEM CHECK :".
2 Do you have SUZUKI scan tool?  Go To Step 3. Go To Step 4.
3 PNP signal ("D" range signal) check 
  1. Connect SUZUKI scan tool to DLC with ignition switch OFF.
  2. Turn ignition switch ON and check PNP signal ("PIN" or "D" range) on display when shifting select lever to each range. SUZUKI Scan tool display Selector lever position "P" and "N" range: P/N range Selector lever position "R", "D", "2" and "L" range: D range 

Is "D" range on display no matter which of "R", "D", "2" and "L" range positions select lever may be at? 		 Intermittent trouble or faulty ECM.
Check for intermittent referring to "INTERMITTENT AND POOR CONNECTION INSPECTION ."		 Go To Step 5.
4 PNP signal ("D" range signal) check 
  1. Turn ignition switch ON.
  2. Check voltage at terminal "G04-14" of ECM connector connected.

Voltage at G07-28 terminal 
Selector lever position "P" and "N" range: 10 - 14 V Selector lever position "R", "D", "2" and "L" range: 0 - 1 V 
Is 0 - 2.5 V indicated no matter which of "R", "D", "2" and "L" range positions select lever may be at? 		 Intermittent trouble or faulty ECM. Check for intermittent referring to "INTERMITTENT AND POOR CONNECTION INSPECTION ." Go To Step 5.
5 Is "P/N" range on display (Is 10- 14 Vindicated) when select lever is at one of "R", "D", "2" and "L" range positions only?  Check transmission range sensor and circuits referring to TRANSMISSION RANGE SENSOR (SHIFT SWITCH) INSPECTION AND ADJUSTMENT . Go To Step 6.
6 PNP signal circuit check 
  1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
  2. Disconnect TCM connectors.
  3. Check for proper connection to TCM at terminal "G07-28".
  4. If OK, then check voltage at terminal "G07-28" in TCM connector disconnected, with ignition switch ON.

Is it 10 - 14 V? 		 Open "RED/BLK" circuit, poor "RED/BLK" connection in Transmission range sensor harness connector, select cable maladjusted, transmission range sensor maladjusted or transmission range sensor malfunction.
If all results are OK, substitute a known-good TCM and recheck.		 Open "GRY/RED" circuit or poor "G04-14" connection.
If wire and connection are OK, substitute a known-good ECM and recheck.
