Diagnostic Trouble Codes Troubleshooting

WARNING: This work must be performed in a well ventilated area and away from any open flames such as gas hot water.

DTC TROUBLESHOOTING

Step	Action	Yes	No
1	Was "Engine and Emission Control System Check" performed?	Go To Step 2.	Go to "ENGINE AND EMISSION CONTROL SYSTEM CHECK :".
2	Check fuel filler cap for SUZUKI genuine parts, tightness and gasket for deterioration. Are they in good condition?	Go To Step 3.	Tighten or replace fuel filler cap.
3	Perform the pressurization test referring to EVAPORATIVE EMISSION SYSTEM LEAK INSPECTION . Is any leak detected?	Go To Step 4.	Fuel filler cap had loosened. Retighten fuel filler cap securely. If any leak is detected after retightening fuel filler cap, substitute a known-good ECM and recheck.
4	Perform smoke test referring to EVAPORATIVE EMISSION SYSTEM SMOKE TEST . Is there any leaky part?	Repair or replace the leaky parts. After repairing or replacing leaky parts, perform Step 3 once again.	Go To Step 5.
5	Check EVAP canister purge valve and its circuit referring to EVAP CANISTER VENT VALVE AND ITS CIRCUIT INSPECTION . Is check result satisfactory?	Go To Step 6.	Repair or replace EVAP canister purge valve and its circuit.
6	Check EVAP canister vent valve and its circuit referring to EVAP CANISTER VENT VALVE AND ITS CIRCUIT INSPECTION . Is check result satisfactory?	Go To Step 7.	Repair or replace EVAP canister vent valve and its circuit.
7	Check fuel tank pressure and temp, sensor for performance referring to "FUEL TANK PRESSURE AND TEMP. SENSOR INSPECTION .". Is it in good condition?	Go To Step 8.	Replace fuel tank pressure and temp, sensor.
8	Check fuel level sensor and its circuit referring to "DTC P0461: FUEL LEVEL SENSOR CIRCUIT RANGE / PERFORMANCE PROBLEM :". Is check result satisfactory?	Substitute a known-good ECM and recheck.	Repair or replace malfunction part.
