Air Bag Diagnostic System Check Flow

NOTE: If "PASSENGER AIRBAG OFF" indicator lamp lights abnormally, check the lamp for operation referring to "PASSENGER AIRBAG OFF" INDICATOR LAMP CHECK .

Flow test description

Step 1: Check that "AIR BAG" warning lamp lights.

Step 2: Check that "AIR BAG" warning lamp lights.

Step 3: Check diagnosis switch circuit.

Step 4: Check that "AIR BAG" warning lamp flashes 6 times after ignition switch is turned ON.

Step 6: Check that history code(s) is in SDM. (using SUZUKI scan tool)

Step 7: Check that history code(s) is in SDM. (using SUZUKI scan tool)

Step 8: Check that history code(s) is in SDM. (using monitor coupler)

Step 9: Check that history code(s) is in SDM. (using monitor coupler)

Step 10: Check that history code(s) is in OCM.

Step 12: Check that current code(s) is in SDM. (using SUZUKI scan tool)

Step 13: Check that current code(s) is in SDM. (using SUZUKI scan tool)

Step 14: Check that current code(s) is in SDM. (using monitor coupler)

Step 15: Check that current code(s) is in SDM. (using monitor coupler)

Step 16: Check that current code(s) is in OCM.

AIR BAG DIAGNOSTIC REFERENCE CHART

1	Make sure that voltage is about 11 V or higher. Note "AIR BAG" warning lamp as ignition switch is turned ON. Does "AIR BAG" warning lamp come ON when ignition switch is turned ON?	Go to Step 2.	Proceed "AIR BAG" Warning Lamp Does Not Come ON:".
2	Does "AIR BAG" warning lamp come ON steady?	Proceed ""AIR BAG" Warning Lamp Comes ON Steady:".	Go to Step 3.
3	Does "AIR BAG" warning lamp keep flashing (indicating DTC) when ignition switch is ON?	Proceed ""AIR BAG" Warning Lamp Flashes:".	Go to Step 4.
4	Does "AIR BAG" warning lamp turn OFF, after flashing 6 times?	Go to Step 5.	Go to Step 11.
5	Do you have SUZUKI scan tool?	Go to Step 6.	Go to Step 8.
6	Check DTC of SDM using SUZUKI scan tool referring to "DTC CHECK FOR SDM :". Is "NO CODES" displayed on SUZUKI scan tool?	Air bag system is in good condition.	Go to Step 7.
7	Is DTC B1019 displayed on SUZUKI scan tool?	Go to Step 10.	An intermittent trouble has occurred at some place. Check the connector harness, etc. related to the sensed DTC. Refer to "INSPECTION OF INTERMITTENT AND POOR CONNECTIONS :". Then clear DTC referring to "DTC CLEARANCE FOR SDM :", and repeat this flow.
8	Check DTC of SDM using monitor coupler referring to "DTC CHECK FOR SDM :". Is flashing pattern DTC No.0000 indicated on "AIR BAG" warning lamp?	Air bag system is in good condition.	Go to Step 9.
9	Is flashing pattern DTC No. 1019 indicated on "AIR BAG" warning lamp?	Go to Step 10.	An intermittent trouble has occurred at some place. Check the connector harness, etc. related to the sensed DTC. Refer to "INSPECTION OF INTERMITTENT AND POOR CONNECTIONS :". Then clear DTC referring to "DTC CLEARANCE FOR SDM :", and repeat this flow.
10	Check DTC of OCM referring to "DTC CHECK FOR OCM :". Is "NO CODES" displayed on SUZUKI scan tool?	Air bag system including occupant classification system is in good condition.	An intermittent trouble has occurred at some place. Check the connector harness, etc. related to the sensed DTC. Refer to "INSPECTION OF INTERMITTENT AND POOR CONNECTIONS :". Then clear DTC referring to "DTC CLEARANCE FOR OCM :", and repeat this flow.
11	Do you have SUZUKI scan tool?	Go to Step 12.	Go to Step 14.
12	Check DTC of SDM using SUZUKI scan tool referring to "DTC CHECK FOR SDM :". Is "NO CODES" displayed on SUZUKI scan tool?	Substitute a known-good SDM and recheck.	Go to Step 13.
13	Is DTC B1019 displayed on SUZUKI scan tool?	Go to Step 16.	Check and repair according to flow corresponding to that DTC.
14	Check DTC of SDM using monitor coupler referring to "DTC CHECK FOR SDM :". Is flashing pattern DTC No.0000 indicated on "AIR BAG" warning lamp?	Substitute a known-good SDM and recheck.	Go to Step 15.
15	Is flashing pattern DTC No. 1019 indicated on "AIR BAG" warning lamp?	Go to Step 10.	Check and repair according to flow corresponding to that DTC.
16	Check DTC of OCM referring to "DTC CHECK FOR OCM :". Is "NO CODES" displayed on SUZUKI scan tool?	Substitute a known-good OCM and recheck. If DTC still exists, substitute a known-good SDM and recheck.	Check and repair according to flow corresponding to that DTC.
