WARNING: In order to reduce risk of fire and personal injury, this work must be performed in a well ventilated area and away from any open flames such as gas hot water.
DTC TROUBLESHOOTING

Step Action Yes No
1 Was "Engine and Emission Control System Check" performed?  Go To Step 2. Go to "ENGINE AND EMISSION CONTROL SYSTEM CHECK :".
2 Check fuel tank pressure and temp, sensor circuit for short
  1. Turn OFF ignition switch.
  2. Disconnect connectors from ECM.
  3. Check for poor connection to ECM connector at "G04-27" and "G04-15" terminals.
  4. If OK, measure resistance between terminal "G04-27" of ECM connector and vehicle body ground.

Is resistance infinity?
Go To Step 3. "LT GRN" wire shorted to ground.
3 Check fuel tank pressure and temp, sensor circuit for power short
  1. Turn ON ignition switch.
  2. Measure voltage between "G04-27" terminal of ECM connector and vehicle body ground.

Is voltage 0 V?
Go To Step 4. "LT GRN" wire shorted to other circuit.
4 Check ECM voltage in fuel tank pressure and temp, sensor circuit
  1. Turn ignition switch to OFF position.
  2. Remove ECM from vehicle body referring to "ENGINE CONTROL MODULE (ECM) REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION and connect connectors to ECM.
  3. Remove fuel tank referring to FUEL TANK REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  4. Disconnect fuel tank pressure and temp, sensor connector.
  5. Check for poor connection to fuel tank pressure and temp, sensor at all terminals.
  6. If connection is OK, turn ON ignition switch.
  7. Check voltage between terminal "G04-27" and terminal "G04-15" of ECM connector.

Is voltage 4 - 5 V?
Go To Step 5. Substitute a known-good ECM and recheck.
5 Check fuel tank pressure and temp, sensor for performance
  1. Turn OFF ignition switch.
  2. Check fuel tank pressure and temp, sensor for performance referring to "FUEL TANK PRESSURE AND TEMP. SENSOR INSPECTION .".

Is check result satisfactory?
Go To Step 6. Replace fuel tank pressure and temp, sensor.
6 Check fuel tank pressure and temp, sensor circuit high resistance
  1. Disconnect connectors from ECM.
  2. Connect disconnected fuel tank pressure and temp, sensor connector.
  3. Using service wire, short between "LT GRN" and "ORN" wire terminals of fuel tank pressure and temp, sensor connector.
  4. Measure resistance between "G04-27" and "04-15" terminal of ECM connector.

Is resistance less than 5 Ω?
Go To Step 7. High resistance in "LT GRN" or "ORN" circuit.
7 Check IAT sensor circuit
  1. Perform Step 2 to Step 10 in "DTC P0111: INTAKE AIR TEMPERATURE CIRCUIT RANGE / PERFORMANCE :".

Is check result satisfactory?
Go To Step 8. Repair or replace IAT sensor circuit.
8 Check ECT sensor circuit
  1. Perform Step 2 to Step 11 in "DTC P0116: ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE CIRCUIT RANGE / PERFORMANCE :".

Is check result satisfactory?
Substitute a known-good ECM and recheck. Repair or replace ECT sensor circuit.
