Occupant Classification System Sensitivity Check

  1. Ensure ignition if off. Verify head rest is installed on passenger seat. Move passenger seat to center position and lock. Move seat back to upright position and lock. Connect Suzuki scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC), located under driver-side instrument panel. Turn ignition on. Select DATA LIST on scan tool. When 88.2 pounds (40 kg) of weight is placed on passenger seat, weight sensor value displayed on scan tool should be 79-52-96.84 pounds (36.07-43.93 kg). When there is no weight on passenger seat, weight sensor value should be -2.64 to 2.64 pounds (-1.2 to 1.2kg).
  2. Repeat test several times to ensure accuracy. If correct test values are not achieved, replace passenger seat track adjusters.
