EVAP Canister Vent Valve Inspection

CAUTION: Do not apply high compressed air to nozzle of EVAP canister vent valve because high compressed air could damage EVAP canister vent valve. It results in fuel vapor leakage.

Remove EVAP canister vent valve referring to EVAP CANISTER VENT VALVE REMOVAL & INSTALLATION .
Check EVAP canister vent valve for damage.
Check for resistance between two terminals of EVAP canister vent valve. If resistance is as specified, proceed to the next step. If not, replace EVAP Canister vent valve.
EVAP canister vent valve resistance 25 - 30 ohm at 20°C (68°F)

Perform the following. If check result is not as specified, replace EVAP canister vent valve.
- Breathe into nozzle "A". Air should come out of nozzle "B".
- Connect 12 V-battery to EVAP canister vent valve terminals. In this state, breathe into nozzle "A". Air should not come out of nozzle "B".
