EVAP Canister Purge Valve Circuit Check

WARNING: Do not apply vacuum by mouth; otherwise harmful fuel vapor can be breathed in.
CAUTION: Do not apply vacuum more than 86 kPa (12.47 Psi); otherwise EVAP canister purge valve could be damaged.
  1. Disconnect vacuum hose (1) from the outlet nozzle.

  2. Apply vacuum 53 kPa (7.69 Psi) to 67 kPa (9.72 Psi) to the outlet nozzle (1) using a special tool. If vacuum can be applied, go to the next step. If not, replace EVAP canister purge valve.

    2. (A):  09917-47910

  3. If you have SUZUKI scan tool, perform step  A . If not, perform step  B .
    1. Using SUZUKI scan tool
      1. Connect SUZUKI scan tool (1) to DLC (2) with ignition switch OFF.
      2. Turn ON EVAP canister purge valve by using SUZUKI scan tool with ignition switch ON.
      3. With step b) condition, apply vacuum 53 kPa (7.69 Psi) to 67 kPa (9.72 Psi) to the outlet nozzle (1) using a special tool.
        1. Special tool 
        2. (A):  09917-47910
      4. If vacuum can not be applied, EVAP canister purge valve circuit is in good condition and reconnect vacuum hose to the outlet nozzle securely. If not, check EVAP canister purge valve referring to EVAP CANISTER PURGE VALVE INSPECTION  .

    2. Not using SUZUKI scan tool
      1. Using service wire, connect "C51-2-1" terminal of ECM (PCM) coupler and body ground with ignition switch OFF.
      2. With ignition switch ON, apply vacuum 53 kPa (7.69 Psi) to 67 kPa (9.72 Psi) to the outlet nozzle (1) using a special tool.
        1. Special tool 
        2. (A):  09917-47910
      3. If vacuum can not be applied, "C51-2-1" terminal to ECM (PCM) connection, EVAP canister purge valve circuit are in good condition and reconnect vacuum hose to the outlet nozzle securely. If not, check EVAP canister purge valve referring to EVAP CANISTER PURGE VALVE INSPECTION  .
