KEY FOBS FOR REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY SYSTEM

CONDITION:
Keyless entry key fob(s) is inoperative.
CAUSE:
Certain jolts under normal use can cause the battery terminal to loose contact with the battery on some key fobs built prior to June 10, 2003.
CORRECTION:
The battery compartment has been redesigned. Check date code inside the back of the cover of the fob, see below.
^ If date is before June 10, 2003 replace Fob only.
^ If date is June 10, 2003 or after follow the proper diagnostic procedure in the appropriate Service Manual under Keyless Entry System Symptom Diagnosis" in order to insure correct diagnosis of the failure.
NOTE:
^ If transmitter is replaced be sure to reprogram the transmitter following the procedure under "Reprogramming Transmitter Code".
^ Do not replace the controller unless the diagnostic flow requires!
