Axle Hub Assembly: Installation

  1. Install hub and knuckle. See Figure .
  2. Install front strut-to-hub and knuckle mounting bolts and nuts.
  3. Install axle shaft.
  4. Reconnect tie rod end.
  5. Reconnect lower arm ball joint.
  6. Install stabilizer link assembly.
  7. Install stabilizer rubber.
  8. Tighten the self-locking nut until the stabilizer link thread part protruding length is as shown. See Fig 1 .
  9. Be sure to install the axle shaft washer as shown. See Fig 2 . See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  10. Tighten all bolts and nuts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  11. Check ball joint dust cover. See BALL JOINT DUST COVER CHECKING  under ADJUSTMENTS & INSPECTION. Replace as necessary.
