DTC Confirmation Test

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Suzuki Grand Vitara. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. With ignition switch OFF, connect scan tool. Turn ignition switch ON and clear DTCs. See CLEARING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
  2. Start engine and warm up to normal operating temperature. Increase vehicle speed to 25 MPH (40 KM/H) or more and maintain speed for 15 min. (Keep throttle valve operation constant.)
  3. Stop vehicle and check whether evaporative system monitoring test has completed by using scan tool. If test has not completed, check vehicle conditions (environmental) and repeat steps  2 and  3 . If evaporative system monitoring test has completed, check DTC and pending DTC.
