Remote Audio Control Switch Inspection

- Remove driver air bag (inflator) module. Refer to DRIVER-SIDE AIR BAG MODULE (Grand Vitara) or DRIVER-SIDE AIR BAG MODULE (XL-7).
- Disconnect remote audio control switch connector from contact coil.
- Check switch (1) for resistance between "a" and "c" terminals under each condition below.
If check result is not satisfactory, replace remote audio control switch.
"MUTE", "+" and "-" switch resistance
All switches released (OFF): 90 - 110 k/ohms
"MUTE" switch pushing on (ON): 300 - 360 ohms
"+" switch pushing on (ON): 900 - 1100 ohms
"-" switch pushing on (ON): 2900 - 3500 ohms
- Check switch (1) for resistance between "b" and "c" terminals under each condition below.
If check result is not satisfactory, replace remote audio control switch.
"MODE", "<" and ">" switch resistance
All switches released (OFF): 90 - 110 k/ohms
"MODE" switch pushing on (ON): 300 - 360 ohms
"<" switch pushing on (ON): 900 - 1100 ohms
">" switch pushing on (ON): 2900 - 3500 ohms
