Front Axle Shaft: Disassembly

CAUTION:

DO NOT disassemble ball joint assembly (wheel side joint). If any abnormality is found in joint, replace it as assembly.
DO NOT disassemble cage of differential side joint. If any abnormality is found in cage, replace differential side joint assembly.

Remove boot big and small bands of differential and wheel side joint. See Fig 1 .
Slide boot (1) toward the center of shaft, remove snap ring (2) from DOJ housing, and take shaft out of DOJ housing. See Fig 2 .
Remove snap ring (1), and then cage (2) from shaft. See Fig 3 .
Remove differential and wheel side boots from shaft.
