Dismounting and Remounting
GeneratorDismounting
1. Disconnect negative (-) cable at battery.
2. Disconnect generator lead wire ("B" terminal wire) and coupler from generator.
3. Remove generator belt. Refer to "Cooling Fan / Generator Belt Removal and Installation: G16 Engine" or "Cooling Fan / Generator Belt Removal and Installation: J20 Engine".
4. Remove generator drive belt adjusting bolt and generator mounting bolt.
5. Remove generator.
Remounting
1. Mount generator on the generator bracket.
2. Tighten generator bolts (upper bolt (short) (1), lower bolt (long) (2)).
Tightening torque
Generator mounting bolt (a): 23 N.m (2.3 kg-m, 17.0 lb-ft)
3. Install generator (cooling fan) belt. Refer to "Cooling Fan / Generator Belt Removal and Installation: G16 Engine".
4. Install cooling fan belt (J20 engine only). Refer to "Cooling Fan / Generator Belt Removal and Installation: J20 Engine".
5. Connect "B" terminal wire (3) and coupler to generator.
Tightening torque
"B" terminal outer nut (b): 8 N.m (0.8 kg-m, 6.0 lb-ft)
6. Install canister.
7. Connect negative (-) cable at battery.
