Oil Pan / Oil Pump Installation

  1. Installation should follow the removal procedure in the reverse order.
  2. Discard used oil pump oil ring and install new one.
  3. Tighten the oil suction pipe-to-oil pump retaining bolts, oil suction pipe bracket bolt, and the oil pump retaining bolt.
    1. Tighten 

    Tighten the oil suction pipe-to-oil pump retaining bolts to 8-12 N.m (106-124 lb-in).

    Tighten the oil suction pipe bracket bolt to 8-12 N.m (106-124 lb-in).

    Tighten the oil pump retaining bolts to 18-22 N.m (13-16 lb-ft).

  4. Install the oil pump sprocket.
    NOTE: Make sure that the dotted surface on the sprocket faces toward the oil pump.
    1. Tighten 

    Tighten the oil pump sprocket retaining nut to 18-22 N.m (13-16 lb-ft).

  5. Install the oil pump sprocket cover.
    1. Tighten 

    Tighten the oil pump sprocket cover retaining bolts to 5-7 N.m (44-62 lb-in).

  6. After cleaning the remaining liquid gasket and oil, apply new liquid gasket (Loctite® 5900 - M8585) on the oil pan.

  7. After cleaning the remaining liquid gasket and oil on the bed plate flange, install the oil pan.
    1. Tighten 

    Tighten the oil pan retaining bolts to 8-12 N.m (71-106 lb-in).

  8. Tighten the center front suspension member bolts.
    1. Tighten 

    Tighten the center front suspension member bolts to 80-100 N.m (59-74 lb-ft).

  9. Tighten the front engine mount bracket-to-damper bush bolt.
    1. Tighten 

    Tighten the front engine mount bracket-to-damper bush bolt to 70-90 N.m (52-66 lb-ft).

  10. Tighten the oil pan flange-to-transaxle bolt.
    1. Tighten 

    Tighten the oil pan flange-to-transaxle bolt to 27-35 N.m (20-26 lb-ft).

  11. Discard used oil pan drain plug washer and replace it with a new one.
  12. Install the oil pan drain plug.
    1. Tighten 

    Tighten the oil pan drain plug to 35-45 N.m (26-33 lb-ft).

  13. Refill the engine with engine oil.
  14. Install the engine under cover.
    1. Tighten 

    Tighten the engine under cover retaining bolts to 17-27 N.m (13-20 lb-ft).
