Installation Procedure

Feed the cable from the luggage compartment to the passenger compartment.
Connect the cable to the handle.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

Install the handle with the bolt.
Tighten: Tighten the remote cable handle bolt to 8 N.m (71 lb in).

Install the floor carpet to its original position.
Install the front and the rear seats. Refer to Seat Replacement - Front Bucket and Seat Back Replacement - Rear in Seats.
Connect the cable to the lock striker.
Install the lock striker. Refer to Lock Striker Replacement - Rear Compartment Lid .
Install the luggage compartment left side wheelhouse, the rear quarter, and the rear trim panels. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Cargo Area Rear (Notchback) or Trim Panel Replacement - Cargo Area Rear (Hatchback) , Trim Panel Replacement - Rear Quarter , and Compartment Trim Panel Replacement - Rear in Interior Trim.
