Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2008 Suzuki Swift +, 2008 Pontiac Wave, and 2008 Chevrolet Aveo. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  2. Remove the tire and wheel assembly from the vehicle. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
  3. Remove the tire from the wheel. Refer to Tire Mounting and Dismounting (Without TPMS) or Tire Mounting and Dismounting (With TPMS) .
  4. Fig 1: Torx Screw

  5. Remove the TORX screw.

  7. Carefully pull the enclosure straight off of the valve.
  8. Cut the rubber bulb off of the valve stem.

    NOTE: Do not scratch or damage the clear coating on aluminum wheels with the tire changing equipment. Scratching the clear coating could cause the aluminum wheel to corrode and the clear coating to peel from the wheel.
  10. Attach the tire valve stem mounting tool, or equivalent, to the valve stem.
  11. Pull the valve stem through the rim in order to remove the valve stem.
