Removal Procedure

    CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution .
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the timing belt. Refer to Timing Belt Replacement .
  3. Remove the rear timing belt cover. Refer to Timing Belt Cover Replacement .
  4. Disconnect the oil pressure switch connector.

  6. Remove the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor bolt.
  7. Remove the CKP sensor.
  8. Remove the oil pan. Refer to Oil Pan Replacement .
  9. Remove the oil pump pickup tube and the support bracket bolts.
  10. Remove the oil pump pickup tube.

  12. Remove the oil pump retaining bolts (1).
  13. CAUTION: Refer to Safety Glasses Caution .
  14. Carefully separate the oil pump and the gasket from the engine block and the oil pan.
  15. Remove the oil pump.
