Measure the axle direction play (1) of side gear and replace a side gear washer if it exceeds limit. Refer to Side Gear Axle Direction Play Table in Manual Transmission Specifications .

After checking driver (1) and side gear (2) for worn or scratched thrust adjusting shim, replace it if necessary.
