Tie-Rod/Rack Boot Removal and Installation: Removal

- Remove steering gear box from vehicle referring to P/S Gear Box Removal and Installation .
- For ease of adjustment after installation, make marking (4) of tie-rod end lock nut position of tie-rod thread.
- Loosen tie-rod end lock nut (2) and remove tie-rod end.
- Remove boot wire and clip.
- Remove boot (3) from tie-rod (1).
- Unbend bent parts (3 places) (1) of tie-rod lock washer and remove tie-rod (2) from rack (3).
