Floor Jack

On 2WD vehicle, place the jack against the front end of the engine mounting member or rear suspension frame. On 4WD vehicle, place the jack against the jacking bracket or rear differential. See Fig 1. If jacking up only one end of the vehicle, be sure to block the wheels on the ground in order to ensure safety. After the vehicle is jacked up, support it on jackstands. See Fig 2.
