Master Cylinder

  1. Remove master cylinder and separate reservoir from master cylinder. See MASTER CYLINDER  and MASTER CYLINDER RESERVOIR  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Use illustration for exploded view of master cylinder assembly. See Fig 1.
  2. On ABS vehicles, push primary piston in to remove secondary piston stopper pin from front reservoir port. On non-ABS vehicles, remove piston stopper bolt. On all models, remove circlip. Remove primary piston. Using compressed air, carefully apply pressure to front reservoir port to remove secondary piston.
  3. On ABS vehicles, assemble secondary piston in master cylinder with slot facing front reservoir port. Press both pistons in fully to install stopper pin (ABS) or stopper bolt (non-ABS). Install circlip.
