Front Brake Caliper: Disassembly

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Suzuki Aerio and 2003 Suzuki Aerio. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Remove caliper piston boot retaining ring (if equipped) and boot. Place a narrow wooden block between piston and caliper that will allow piston to clear its bore and not be damaged by caliper when removed.
  2. Using low pressure compressed air, apply air into caliper brake line fitting hole to force piston out of caliper. Remove piston and wood block. On Aerio, remove caliper piston boot retaining ring and boot. On all models, remove piston seal with small flat-blade screwdriver if necessary. Remove bleeder screw.
