Axle Shafts: Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Suzuki Aerio. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
CAUTION:
  • To avoid excessive expansion of boot and consequential disconnection of joint in boot, DO NOT pull differential side joint housing.
  • Protect boots from any damage, preventing them from unnecessary contact while installing axle shaft.
  • DO NOT hit joint boot with hammer. Inserting joint only by hands is allowed.
  • Make sure that differential side joint is inserted fully and its snap ring is seated as it was.

Install axle shaft assembly by reversing removal procedure. Tighten each bolt and nut. See Fig 1 and TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  . Apply sealant to drain plug (1) and filler/level plug (2) for manual transmission.
