Exhaust Manifold Removal and Installation: Installation

Install the exhaust manifold gasket.
Install the exhaust manifold.
Install the exhaust manifold retaining nuts and tighten in the sequence shown.
Tighten

Tighten the exhaust manifold retaining nuts 22 N.m (16 Ft. Lbs.).

Install the exhaust flex pipe retaining nuts to the exhaust manifold studs.
Tighten

Tighten the exhaust flex pipe-to-exhaust manifold retaining nuts to 35 N.m (26 Ft. Lbs.).

Install the exhaust manifold heat shield.
Install the exhaust manifold heat shield bolts.
Tighten

Tighten the exhaust manifold heat shield bolts to 8 N.m (71 lb-in).

Connect the O2 sensor connector, if equipped.
Connect the negative battery.
