Disassembly (Inboard Joint)

Remove the axle shaft from the vehicle.
Remove the large seal retaining clamp.
Remove the small seal retaining clamp. See Fig 1 . Discard the clamp.
Separate the joint housing from the boot. See Fig 2 .
Degrease the tripot assembly.
Remove the shaft retaining ring using the snap ring pliers (J-8059).See Fig 3 .
Remove the tripot and the tripot joint retaining ring from axle shaft.
Remove the tripot joint seal from the axle shaft. See Fig 4
