Retrieving Diagnostic Trouble Codes Using AIR Bag Test Connector (Onboard Diagnostics)

If Suzuki scan tool is not available, on-board diagnostics can be performed through AIR BAG warning light. Use a jumper wire to connect test connector to ground. See Figure. Sensing and Diagnostic Module (SDM) displays Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) by flashing AIR BAG warning light. Each DTC displayed consists of a number of flashes which represent the first digit, a one second pause and then a number of flashes which represent the second digit of the DTC. The 2 digit code will correspond to last 2 digits of DTC. A pause of 3 seconds will occur before next DTC is displayed. Each DTC is flashed once before moving to next one.

NOTE: DTCs B1051, B1058 and B1071 exist, they cannot be cleared.
