Removal & Installation

  1. Before proceeding, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS . Ensure front wheels face straight ahead. Disconnect negative battery cable. Disable air bag system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM .
  2. Remove 2 Torx screws securing driver-side air bag module to steering wheel. Pull driver-side air bag module away from steering wheel. Disconnect air bag module and horn connectors. Remove driver-side air bag module.
  3. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten driver-side air bag module Torx screws to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Activate air bag system.
