Ignition (Main) Switch Removal And Installation: Removal

  1. Disconnect negative (-) cable at battery.
  2. Disable air bag system. Refer to DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM (Grand Vitara) or DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM (XL-7).
  3. Remove steering lock assembly (ignition switch) from steering column referring to STEERING LOCK ASSEMBLY (IGNITION SWITCH) REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
