Fuel Rails & Injectors: Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Suzuki XL-7, 2002 Suzuki Vitara, 2002 Suzuki Grand Vitara, 2002 Suzuki Esteem, and 2002 Suzuki Aerio. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install NEW grommets and "O" rings on injectors. Coat NEW "O" rings with thin coat of fuel. See Figure . Install injectors on fuel rail. Ensure injectors rotate smoothly on fuel rail. If injectors do not rotate smoothly, check for binding "O" ring.
  2. Install insulators in cylinder head. Install fuel rails with injectors. Install and tighten fuel rail retaining bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  . To complete installation, reverse removal procedure.
  3. After repairs, check for fuel leaks. With engine off, turn ignition to ON position for 2-3 seconds to activate fuel pump. Repeat until pressure can be felt in fuel hose. Check for fuel leaks around connections. Repair fuel leaks if necessary.
