DTC Confirmation Test (P0496)

- With ignition switch OFF, connect scan tool. Turn ignition switch ON and clear DTCs. See CLEARING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
- Start engine and warm up to normal operating temperature. Increase vehicle speed to 25 MPH (40KM/H) or more. Keep vehicle speed for 15 min. (Throttle valve operating is kept constant.)
- Stop vehicle and check whether evaporative system monitoring test has completed by using scan tool. If test has not completed, check vehicle conditions (environmental) and repeat steps 2 and 3 . If evaporative system monitoring test has completed, check DTC and pending DTC. See RETRIEVING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES .
