Compressor Removal and Installation: Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Suzuki Vitara. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
CAUTION: Be sure to use HFC-134a (R-134a) compressor oil.
  1. If compressor was replaced, pour new compressor oil with the same amount as that drained from compressor. Refer to "REPLENISHING COMPRESSOR OIL  " of "Performance Diagnosis of A/C System:".

    NOTE: Compressor assembly supplied from factory is filled up with the following amount of oil.

    Amount of oil in compressor 

    100 cm 3 (100 cc, 6.1 in.3 )

  2. Install compressor as follows.
    1. Install compressor to its bracket.
    2. Connect suction and discharge hoses to compressor.
    3. Install compressor drive belt. Refer to POWER STEERING PUMP DRIVE BELT INSPECTION AND for Installation and Belt Tension.

  3. Connect thermal protector lead wire.
  4. Evacuate and charge system according to Operation Procedure for Charging A/C with Refrigerant 
    CAUTION: Be sure to use HFC-134a (R-134a) compressor oil.
