Stabilizer Link Ball Joint Turning Torque

  1. After shaking the ball joint stud several times, use Preload Socket (MB991006) to measure the breakaway torque of the ball joint. See Figure . If the breakaway torque is not 4.4-13.3 INCH lbs. (0.5-1.5 N.m), ball joint is difficult to turn, or if the ball joint does not turn smoothly, replace the stabilizer link.
