Test Description

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Isuzu Rodeo Sport and 2002 Isuzu Rodeo. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The numbers below refer to the step numbers in the diagnostic procedures.

  1. 1

PMC OBD II system check prompts technician to complete some basic checks and store the freeze frame and failure records data on scan tool if applicable. This creates an electronic copy of data taken when fault occurred. The information is then stored on the scan tool for later reference.
  2. 2

ABS DTCs are found by selecting Chassis on TECH 2.
  3. 3

Be careful to clear only DTCs and not captured information stored on scan tool. Scan tool will issue a warning if this is about to happen.
  4. 4

A DTC P1380 that resets indicates that PCM is not receiving correct information from EBCM due to an ABS DTC.
  5. 5

When DTC P1380 is set, an ABS DTC should also be set.
  6. 6

For ABS testing procedures, see ANTI-LOCK BRAKES in BRAKES.
  7. 8

Repair any condition that remains, and causing a misfire by using appropriate diagnostic procedure for stored DTC.
  8. 9

    Replacement PCM must be programmed.
