Coolant Temperature Gauge

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Suzuki XL-7, 2002 Suzuki Vitara, and 2002 Suzuki Grand Vitara. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Disconnect connector at coolant temperature sending unit located near thermostat housing. Connect a 12-volt, 3.4-watt bulb (light) between ground and Yellow/White wire. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Ensure bulb lights and temperature gauge needle fluctuates several seconds later. If gauge does not function as specified, check fuses, wiring, connectors and instrument panel circuit board. If these components test okay, replace coolant temperature gauge.
