Rack Boot/Tie-Rod Removal and Installation: Removal

- Remove steering gear case referring to "POWER STEERING GEAR BOX ASSEMBLY REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION: ".
- For ease of adjustment after installation, make marking (4) of tie-rod end lock nut position of tie-rod thread.
- Loosen tie-rod end lock nut and remove tie-rod end.
- Remove boot band and clip.
- Remove boot (3) from tie-rod (1).
- Unbend washer (1) (2 places), and remove tie-rod (2) from rack (3).
