Compressor On-Vehicle Inspection

1. Install manifold gauge set (1) as shown in the figure. See Fig 1.
2. Close Hi (4) and Lo (5) hand valves.

1. Run engine at fast idle.
2. Check compressor for the following:

If any of the following checks indicated a defect, repair compressor.

1. High pressure gauge reading is not low and low pressure gauge reading is not higher than normal.
2. Metallic sound.
3. Leakage from shaft seal.
