Circuit Description
Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM) controls the operation of "ABS" warning light by means of light driver module contained within combination meter.
Battery voltage is supplied to combination meter terminal "G11-14", and Electronic Brake Control Module terminal "E136-15" when ignition switch is turned on. EBCM terminals "E136-1" and "E136-2" are "hot at all times".
The default state is for Light Driver Module to turn ON "ABS" warning light, by supplying a ground path through Light Driver Module.
When EBCM commands "ABS" warning light OFF, EBCM will ground "ABS" warning light circuit. This causes Light Driver Module to open the path to ground for bulb.
When ignition switch is turned to ON position, EBCM turns ON "ABS" warning light for 3 seconds for a bulb check.
Whenever a malfunction is detected within ABS system, EBCM turns ON "ABS" warning light, notifying the driver that ABS needs to be serviced.
