Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes

NOTE: Ensure to retrieve and record information stored in ECM memory (DTC, freeze frame data, etc.) before disconnect ECM harness connectors, battery cable, ECM ground wire harness from engine or main fuse. Such disconnection will erase and loose ECM memory data.

DTCs can be cleared using a SUZUKI or other OBD-II compatible scan tool connected to Data Link Connector (DLC), located below left side of instrument panel. See Figure . DTCs will also clear when fault that originally set that DTC is not detected during 40 engine warm-up cycles. A warm-up cycle is when vehicle coolant temperature rises by 72°F (22°C) or reaches 158°F (70°C) after engine has first started.
