DTC Confirmation Test

Ensure intake air temperature is 18°F (8°C) or more, and engine coolant temperature is 18-230°F (-8-110°C). Vehicle is at an altitude of 8000 feet or below, and barometric pressure is 75 kPa or more. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Connect SUZUKI scan tool or equivalent to DLC, located below left side of instrument panel. See Figure . Turn ignition switch to ON position. Using scan tool, clear DTCs. See CLEARING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. Start engine and drive car at 30-40 mph (50-60 km/h) for 5 minutes. Stop vehicle and let it idle. Using scan tool, check for current or pending DTC. See RETRIEVING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. If DTC P0037 or P0038 resets, see DIAGNOSIS & REPAIR PROCEDURE  . If no current or pending DTC is retrieved, check completion status of HO2S-2 monitoring test in READINESS TESTS mode. If HO2S-2 monitoring test is not completed, check vehicle condition (environmental) and repeat DTC CONFIRMATION TEST  .
