WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Suzuki XL-7, 2002 Suzuki Vitara, 2002 Suzuki Grand Vitara, 2002 Suzuki Esteem, and 2002 Suzuki Aerio. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Remove tank pressure sensor. Inspect fuel tank pressure sensor for clogged vent hole and pressure passage. Connect three 1.5-volt batteries in series. Connect positive terminal to "Vin" terminal of tank pressure sensor. See Figure . Connect negative terminal to "Ground" terminal. Using a voltmeter, measure voltage between terminals "Vout" and "Ground". Voltage should be approximately 2.5 volts.
- Connect a hand-held vacuum pump to sensor pressure passage. As vacuum is applied, voltage reading should decrease. Remove vacuum pump and apply light pressure to pressure passage. Voltage should increase. If readings are not as specified, replace tank pressure sensor.
