DTC Confirmation Test (DTC P2227)

  1. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Connect SUZUKI scan tool or equivalent to DLC. See Figure . Turn ignition switch to ON position. Using scan tool, clear DTCs. See CLEARING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. Start engine and allow it to reach normal operating temperature.
  2. Drive vehicle with engine at 3000 RPM in 3rd gear (M/T) or 2 range (A/T). Release accelerator pedal and allow vehicle to coast (with vehicle in gear) for 5 seconds or more with engine speed of 1600-3000 RPM. Stop vehicle and allow engine to idle.
  3. Preform step  2 2 more times, for three times total. Using scan tool, check for current or pending DTC. See RETRIEVING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. If DTC P2227 resets, go to DIAGNOSIS & REPAIR PROCEDURE  .
