DTC P0500: Vehicle Speed Sensor Malfunction: Condition

DTC is set when Engine Control Module (ECM) does not detect vehicle speed signal input with vehicle decelerating (fuel cut) for 4 seconds or more. Possible causes are:
- Open circuit between speedometer and ground.
- Short or open circuit between speedometer and ECM.
- Short or open circuit between speedometer and VSS.
- VSS malfunction.
- ECM malfunction.
- Speedometer malfunction.
