DTC Confirmation Test

Ensure intake air temperature is 6.8°F (-14°C) or more, vehicle is at an altitude of 6650 feet or below, and barometric pressure is 72 kPa or more. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Connect SUZUKI scan tool or equivalent to DLC. See Figure. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Retrieve and record current or pending DTC and freeze frame data. See RETRIEVING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES  and FREEZE FRAME DATA  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. Using scan tool, clear DTCs. See CLEARING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. Start engine and allow it to reach normal operating temperature. Operate vehicle within recorded freeze frame data conditions. Stop vehicle and let it idle for one minute. Using scan tool, check for current or pending DTC(s). If DTC P0300, P0301, P0302, P0303 or P0304 resets, see DIAGNOSIS & REPAIR PROCEDURE .
