Oil Pump Removal and Installation: Removal

  1. Disconnect negative cable at battery.
  2. Drain engine oil.
  3. Remove oil pan and oil pump strainer. Refer to Oil Pan and Oil Pump Strainer Removal and Installation .
  4. Remove oil pump sprocket cover (1).

  5. Remove baffle plate (5) from lower crank case (1).
  6. Remove oil pump (2) with sprocket from lower crankcase (1).
