Temperature Control Actuator Inspection
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Suzuki Aerio. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Remove temperature control actuator from heater and cooling unit referring to Temperature Control Actuator Removal and Installation .
- Connect temperature control actuator connector to actuator (1).
- Set temperature selector of HVAC control module to MAX HOT position with ignition switch ON, and make sure if the position of actuator level is MAX HOT (A).
- Measure resistance between terminal "1" and "3".
Temperature control actuator resistance between terminal "1" and "3" (MAX HOT position)
Approximately 4.8 - 6.0 k/ohms
- Set temperature selector of HVAC control module to MAX COOL position with ignition switch ON, and make sure if the position of actuator level is MAX COOL (B).
- Measure resistance between terminal "1" and "3".
Temperature control actuator resistance between terminal "1" and "3" (MAX COOL position)
Approximately less than 1.2 k/ohms
If check result is not satisfactory, replace the actuator with new one.
