Master Cylinder

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Suzuki Verona and 2004 Suzuki Forenza. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Remove booster reserve by applying brakes several times with engine off until all reserve is depleted. Fill master cylinder reservoir with fluid and keep it at least half full during bleeding operation.
  2. On Forenza, disconnect front brake line on master cylinder. On Verona, disconnect top brake line on master cylinder. On all models, allow brake fluid to fill master cylinder until it begins to flow from port. Reconnect brake line to master cylinder.
  3. Slowly depress and hold brake pedal. While holding brake pedal depressed, loosen front brake line on Forenza or top brake line on Verona to purge air from master cylinder. Lightly tighten brake fitting and release brake pedal slowly. Wait 15 seconds.
  4. Repeat steps  2 and  3 until all air is removed from master cylinder bore. Tighten brake line fitting to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  5. After air has been bled from front (Forenza) or top (Verona) connection, repeat bleeding procedure at rear (Forenza) or side (Verona) connections. Use same procedure as for front (Forenza) or top (Verona) connections. After all air has been bled from master cylinder, bleed brake lines. See BRAKE LINES .
