Removal & Installation

  1. Before proceeding, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS . Disable air bag system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM .
  2. Remove upper cover from center console. See Fig 1. Remove screws from sides and rear of center console. Remove center console. Disconnect SDM connector. Remove SDM mounting bolts. Remove SDM.
  3. To install, reverse removal procedure. Ensure arrow on SDM is facing front of vehicle. Tighten SDM bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Activate air bag system.
